Encounter of Mater Ecclesiae ex alumni in Rome
The first gathering of PCIMME alumni took place from October 18 to 24. Twenty-three priests from different generations participated. The reunion began with a welcome dinner. On Thursday, October 19, they were welcomed at the Ateneo with the university directors and again toured the halls of the university. Afterwards they were taken to the Sindone exhibition at the Ateneo. At noon the Eucharistic celebration was held. Lunch was held at the International College of the Legionaries of Christ.
On Friday 19, Msgr. Andres Ferrada, secretary of the Congregation for the Clergy, came to the school. The meeting took place in an atmosphere of priestly fraternity. On Saturday, the priests had a moment of conviviality-pilgrimage to Assisi. They visited Blessed Charles Acutis to pray for the youth of their parishes. They concelebrated in the Chapel of St. Leone in the Basilica of St. Francis. On Sunday morning at the altar of St. Peter’s Cathedral in the Vatican they had the Eucharistic celebration presided by Msgr.
Eucharistic celebration presided by Bishop Andres Ferrada. The seminarians and student priests of the school were also present. After the Eucharistic celebration we went to the altar of the Virgin Mater Ecclesiae to thank her for these 32 years of the school and we immortalized it with a photo in front of the altar. To conclude the morning we went to the Governorate Palace in the Vatican for the community photo. On Tuesday we had dinner to conclude with the alumni gathering. Everything took place in a family atmosphere. Some of the priests gave their testimonies and we concluded with some singing by the seminarians. These were days of great fraternity and joy.
